VILLA PATIO
Concept of a 400 m² Private Residence in Odesa
The main house and the guest house are united under a single roof, forming an internal courtyard–patio.
The high ceilings of the kitchen–living area create a greater sense of volume, which is interestingly contrasted with the lower parts of the building and highlights them. Together, all elements form a cohesive architectural ensemble. The rectangular shape of the swimming pool in the courtyard echoes this volume and reflects it.
Exits from different parts of the buildings are designed to lead to two separate summer terraces, which are connected by horizontal canopies and bands. These elements unite the composition, create shade, and cut through the simple cubic forms with a ribbon-like line, enriching the plasticity of the façades. The street-facing fence is formed by rectangular volumes integrated into the architecture of the house.
At the center of the site, a swimming pool with a terrace and a children’s playground are designed, becoming a comfortable place for family relaxation and for meeting friends outdoors.
The light colors of the façades are characteristic of the architecture of the southern regions of our country. Therefore, we chose light-gray large-format terrazzo porcelain stoneware as the main façade material, complemented by accent inserts made of wood.
VILLA PATIO is about the harmonious integration of architecture and nature, where everyone can find a place for rest, play, work, and leisure.
