CONSTRUCTION
Underground fire tank Hatne
The construction of an underground fire tank for 250 m3 of water, which is supposed to be used for extinguishing a fire at the trade and warehouse complex "UnitB" in the village of Hatne, has been completed.
Since the work was carried out in the winter period, the question arose of choosing a technological technique that allows concreting at low temperatures.
At an ambient temperature of +5°C, concrete dramatically reduces strength gain, and at a temperature below 0°C, chemically unbound water turns into ice and destroys the structure of unhardened concrete.
The facility used the "thermos" method, which is based on the use of insulated formwork with a protective layer on open surfaces (usually on top).
It is not necessary to heat freshly poured concrete, since the amount of heat released as a result of the physical and chemical processes of the interaction of cement with water is sufficient to prevent concrete from freezing and acquire critical strength.
