In close collaboration with international organizations, we have developed a concept for a new format of regional medical facilities. This initiative is a response to the pressing challenges of today: rapid urbanization, changing population needs, and the destruction of medical infrastructure caused by the war in Ukraine.
The new medical center features clear functional zoning by departments. All functional blocks are organized around an internal courtyard, which provides natural lighting to part of the premises. The design includes a closed transit system that ensures uninterrupted access to all functional zones.
Entrances to the different zones are partially separated to avoid the intersection of patients seeking planned and emergency care. Thanks to the specific features of the terrain, part of the building is integrated into the landscape: its underground section is hidden on one side but has direct street access on the other.
To harmoniously integrate the facility into the existing urban fabric, which is characterized by typical gable roofs, a similar architectural solution was applied. To give the building a more distinctive appearance, the roof slopes are designed diagonally.
